Getting students' attention and holding their interest in today's classrooms is extremely challenging. T.V. shows, video games, and computer activities are action packed and fast paced. It is quite impossible and impractical to run a classroom at that same intensity and pace. Teachers have always needed a large "bag of tricks" to keep students on task and invested in their learning. Using technology in the classroom should not replace these teaching strategies, but should definitely be added to that "bag of tricks". It helps to both keep students focused, as well as, prepare them for using technology later on in their schooling and future careers. When technology works, it can also be a lot of fun!!!
